 There are a variety regulations that apply to high-powered dental whitening systems sold in various parts of the world. The easiest and safest way to whiten your teeth is with the help of a qualified dental professional. Alternatively, our products and intruction manuals allow you to get fantasitc results at home. In virtually every country other than the United States of America, high-powered peroxide bleaching systems are not allowed to be distributed via OTC channels. Most governments will allow these products to be shipped into the country to the individual end user, but the same dental bleaching system cannot be distributed via standard channels such as pharmacies, grocery stores, salons and such. There are several reasons for this. In some cases the government regulatory agency simply has not taken the time to research and approve these systems for OTC distribution. In other cases, the government has conducted research, but limited the percentage of active ingredient (Carbamide Peroxide) to lower and less effective levels. In more unfortunate cases, a strong lobby by dental professionals and dental associations has kept these systems out of OTC distribution and available exclusively through dental offices where they are more expensive and more difficult to acquire. In countries that do not allow mass OTC distribution, the only way a consumer can acquire a high-powered dental bleaching system is through a licensed dental professional or to have one shipped in from out of the country as a product intended for personal use. Some of these countries have legislatures that are in the process of reviewing the decision to allow high-powered dental bleaching products into OTC distribution, but the dental professional lobbies are working against any law that will allow them to be distributed in mass OTC channels. All we can do is hope that each country will make a decision that is best for its citizens.
